One gardener's observations, discoveries and random thoughts whilst simultaneously worshipping and dallying in a Cape Cod garden. "A garden," said Ralph Waldo Emerson, "is like those pernicious machineries which catch a man's coatskirt or his hand, and draw in his arm, his leg and his whole body to irresistable destruction."

Warm Birthday Wishes

Today, amongst the pre-Christmas madness, I’d like to take a moment to wish a very Happy Birthday to my Owen, the sweet man who shares each day with me. He’s one of those folks who got the short-end of the Birthday Stick being so close to December 25th…and I hope he has a lovely day!

(These beautiful roses, by the way, were part of my gift to him. They are called Latin Beauty, and have a delightful fragrance that really draws you in so you notice the varigation of each bloom.)
