One gardener's observations, discoveries and random thoughts whilst simultaneously worshipping and dallying in a Cape Cod garden. "A garden," said Ralph Waldo Emerson, "is like those pernicious machineries which catch a man's coatskirt or his hand, and draw in his arm, his leg and his whole body to irresistable destruction."

Not the Great Pumpkin

Back in Eastham, the full moon rises over First Encounter Marsh at dusk.

The appearance of this jack-o-lantern moon is the perfect opportunity to remind you that “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be airing on CBS this coming Tuesday evening, October 30th!! Check your local listings!!

Not only is it fun to see Charlie Brown get a bag of rocks for his trick-or-treating efforts, but of course, the real star of the show is Snoopy’s extended fantasy about being shot down behind enemy lines during World War I!!
