In contrast to yesterday beautiful weather, today we saw the return of clouds and showers. Good for the garden, but no doubt annoying for the many people currently vacationing out here.
Even so, but evening, the rain had ended and clouds were thinning, and the colors of dusk promised another day of beauty tomorrow.
But while its dark, I want to remind you about the Perseid Meteor Showers, nature’s fireworks in August. Every year Earth passes through this cloud of meteors, dust and debris and the show can be quite wonderful.
I’ve been seeing shooting stars all week, despite the occasional cloud cover–a few of these brilliant streaks in the nightsky were visible through clouds and our tree canopy…so don’t give me your excuses for not going outside for a peek.
Speaking of peak, the show’s arrives this weekend, Saturday and Sunday to be exact. With a new moon, the sky will be dark, and assuming we can keep the clouds at bay, it should be a terrific show. I hope to stop by one of our beach parking lots, since they seem to afford the most wonderful views of the sky.
Happy Meteor Hunting!!
