One gardener's observations, discoveries and random thoughts whilst simultaneously worshipping and dallying in a Cape Cod garden. "A garden," said Ralph Waldo Emerson, "is like those pernicious machineries which catch a man's coatskirt or his hand, and draw in his arm, his leg and his whole body to irresistable destruction."

Frosty Morning

Another cold morning here, again with temps down in the 28 degree neighborhood.

The frost made some lovely patterns on everything, as if dressing up every dead leaf for the holidays ahead.

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for some of the Adirondack wildlife I hear tell about, but so far my little brother Dewey’s the closest I’ve seen…and he’s anything but wild.

Which isn’t to say he can’t appreciate a fine El Gato catnip cigar, but even then he’s pretty much a lightweight…

…and if you try to suggest that he enjoys a taste of the Nip now and then, he’ll just deny it anyway!
