Dragon’s Welcome

In celebration of the Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Dragon, I thought I’d share a few photos from the Fireworks at Rock Harbor last July Fourth.

Instead of setting a course for our usual peaceful and less crowded double-secret spot in the marsh, our party muscled their way through the crowd and got right out onto the shoreline opposite the launch spot, so for a change we were right there for the bang and the boom, which was pretty cool.   This also meant different photographic opportunities, as well.

Nice photos! Thanks for sharing them with us. When I was younger, my friends and I had a way of getting up on top of the local water storage tank in our town on 4th of July. THE BEST VIEW EVER! though a bit dangerous. Not only could we see our local fireworks up close and personal but we could see fireworks from the surrounding towns all around us in the distance.
Thanks for bringing back some great old memories!
